Argus Stats-Retriever has been released for Argus 4 users

For some time GP Divisions have been asking for the capability to be able to review the volume of messages being sent and received within their region and be able to analyse the traffic between different types of healthcare providers. Division programme officers and management have needed this type of data to facilitate better management of their secure messaging initiatives and also support of their practices, as well as being source data for proposing new programmes in collaborative care and communication.

This year Argus delivers to you, the ‘Argus Stats-Retriever’!

Argus version 5.0.5 will gather stats from a site automatically and store them securely and privately on a server at Argus/DCA. Access to this data will only be given to authorised representatives of the Division for analysis and review. No other unauthorised person will have access to this data and it will not be made available to any other parties except those Division personnel that need it to support their secure messaging initiatives.

These message statistics include how many messages each site/practice has sent and received but does NOT identify patients nor collect patient-sensitive data.

Argus is now providing a special program that duplicates this stats-gathering process provided in Argus 5.0.5 so that stats from version 4 sites can also be gathered and stored for review by Division staff. This 'Argus Stats-Retriever' needs to be installed on the Argus Messenger machine at any site that has version 4 of Argus and running Windows OS. This utility is simple and easy to install.

Refer to the Software Installation Guide for further information on how to install the 'Argus Stats-Retriever'.

Note: the 'Argus Stats-Retriever' download is for sites still operating with Argus version 4 and earlier releases. For sites with version 5 the release of Argus 5.0.5 (coming soon in 2011) consenting sites will not need to download this application, instead a statistics extractor will be built into the software and an alternative means of site consent will need to be used. Version 5 sites will be prompted to update their Argus application at system start up or for server installations by selecting ‘get Argus update’ from the start menu.
