Upgrading Argus from 4.x to 4.3.4
- Create a temporary directory somewhere on your file system (e.g. C:\ArgusBackup) and copy the following files from your current Argus install into the temporary directory:
- Your Argus license (Usually located at C:\Program Files\Argus\Server\"Your site name".bin)
- Argus Database (Usually located at C:\Program Files\Argus\Server\Database\Argus.gdb)
- All MAPI registry files. (Usually located in the "C:\Program Files\Argus\Client" directory.)
- As the public LDAP feature is no longer available from version 4.3 onwards, ensure that any 'Public LDAP' Address Book entries have been added to the Argus User Directory.
- Contact Argus Support to arrange to have the entries added.
- Contact Argus Support to arrange to have the entries added.
- Add all required Argus Users Directory Entries from the Argus Users Directory to the local address book.
- Obtain the sites existing site key pair.
- Ensure all connections to Argus have been closed
- Argus services, MAPI, ArgusWord, Argus Messenger, ArgusAgent, ArgusMail
- Argus services, MAPI, ArgusWord, Argus Messenger, ArgusAgent, ArgusMail
- Uninstall Argus 4.X
- Install Argus 4.3.4
- Copy your Argus license into the 'Server' directory of the new install.
- Copy the file "Argus.gdb" into the 'Database' directory of the new install overwriting the new database.
- Copy all MAPI registry files into the 'Client directory of the new install.
- Run ArgusMessenger.
- After you log into the database, ArgusMessenger will ask you to upgrade your database. Click the 'yes' button.
- A message stating "The database was successfully updated" should be shown.
- Within ArgusMessenger, import the sites original site key pair.
- You have now finished the Argus Upgrade.
